Cartherics Pty Ltd was recognised with the title of ‘Most Promising iPSC Therapy Pipeline in APAC’ at the Asia Pacific Cell & Gene Therapy Excellence Awards 2025 (APCGTEA), held in Singapore on 10 September. The accolade was conferred following votes from more than 10,000 professionals across the cell and gene therapy community and presented during a ceremony that coincided with Cell & Gene Therapy World Asia and Biologics CDMO Asia 2025.
Cartherics, a Melbourne-based biotechnology company developing off-the-shelf immune cell therapies for women’s health, was acknowledged for its growing portfolio of iPSC-derived immunotherapies. The company’s lead candidate, CTH-401, was highlighted as the only natural killer (NK) cell product under development to feature a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting the adenocarcinoma-specific antigen TAG-72. Plans were confirmed to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) application for CTH-401, initially in relapsed and refractory ovarian cancer, before expanding development into endometriosis.

The award also underscored the broader promise of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived NK cells, which provide a renewable, scalable and genetically modifiable source of immune cells. Cartherics’ pipeline additionally encompasses therapies for triple-negative breast cancer and other solid tumours, as well as programmes targeting severe endometriosis and neurological conditions.
By advancing this platform, Cartherics was positioned as a leader in shaping the next generation of off-the-shelf cell therapies across oncology and women’s health.
