BioMelbourne Network leadership update

Posted: 7 November 2025

The Board of BioMelbourne Network acknowledges the resignation of CEO Karen Parr, effective as of 14 November 2025. We thank Karen for her service.

Reflecting on her time with the Network, Karen said: ‘It has been an honour to serve this passionate sector, and I wish the organisation and its members continued success in advancing Victoria’s health technologies sector.

To ensure continuity, Operations Manager Vicky Jones will step into the role of Acting CEO. Vicky has been a key part of the organisation since 2014 and brings strong operational and sector knowledge. All current programs, events and strategic initiatives will continue as planned.

The Board will now undertake a review of the organisation’s leadership requirements and consider the best structure to support the next phase of BioMelbourne Network’s work.

Our priorities remain unchanged: delivering value for members, advocating for the growth of Victoria’s health technologies sector, and strengthening industry-government alignment. The organisation is well-positioned for its next chapter, and the Board is focused on stability and continuity.

On behalf of the BioMelbourne Network Board,
Dr Emma Ball, PhD MBA GAICD
Chair
